Throughout the month of February, I will be running my new blog series to coincide with the 9th annual Women in Horror Month.
I’ll be posting on my blog every day during February and will be bringing you the best of all things horror from female talent in literature, movies, TV, the blogging community and pretty much everything else in between. If it’s horror genre related and involves women, I’m likely to post about it. Sign-up and follow my blog to make sure you don’t miss out.
I’ll also be running a daily challenge on my Instagram account using #allthehorrorladies so if you like a good challenge be sure to follow me on Instagram and look out for details of the daily prompts for February to be announced later this month.
So what is Women in Horror Month?
Women in Horror Month (WiHM) is an international, grassroots initiative, which encourages supporters to learn about and showcase the underrepresented work of women in the horror industries. Whether they are on the screen, behind the scenes, or contributing in their other various artistic ways, it is clear that women love, appreciate, and contribute to the horror genre.
WiHM celebrates these contributions to horror throughout the year via the official WiHM blog, Ax Wound, The Ax Wound Film Festival, and with the official WiHM event/project database in February. This database (http://womeninhorrormonth.com/events)—in conjunction with the WiHM social media fan base—actively promotes do-it-yourself annual film screenings, blogs/articles, podcasts, and any other form of creative media with the ultimate goal of helping works by and featuring women reach a wider audience.
If you like horror, you will want to stay tuned with me on Instagram and here on my blog. I’ll be wrapping up the month of February with a little giveaway for all my blog and Instagram followers.
You will also want to check out some of the fab events over on the official WiHM website above!
